Spread the love

Hey loves, this year is almost over and before you know it we’ll be wishing each other happy new year. So here are some things to do at the end of the year so next year can run smoothly and have an amazing 2022.

7 Things To Do To Start 2023 On A Good Note

1. Be Grateful

Give thanks, take the time out to appreciate your family and friends and everyone that has helped you in one way or the other this year. Be grateful for the little things you have if not you mostly likely won’t appreciate the big things because you are expecting bigger things.

Gratitude turns what you have into enough. Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have.

Write a list of things you’re grateful for this year. Here’s mine

15 Things I’m Grateful For In 2020 Despite All That Happened

2. List Things You Are Leaving Behind In 2022

We all have things or people we need to detach ourselves from, now is the time to make a list of those things.

You can make a list of the bad habits you need to stop, the toxic friendship/ relationship you need to detach yourself from.

What’s the thing you need to give up so you can be happier in 2022?

3. Declutter

Declutter your surroundings, organize your home, wardrobe, kitchen and every area of your house that needs organizing. Do away with things you don’t need, stop storing unnecessary things you don’t have use of. Now is a time to let them go.

Declutter your phone, your contact list, your email list, the people you follow on social media. Just clear out things you no longer need there.

4. Achievement List

Despite all that happened, you still smashed some goals whether big or small. Write them down. What were those things that you were hoping to achieve the year before that you finally did this year? Write it down, write out all you accomplished. It could be how many books you read, the new hobby you started, the new skill you learned, the new job you started, the new business you started.

Whatever felt like an achievement to you write it down. It will make you confident to try out more and there’s just this sense of pride that comes with it.

5. Reflect on the past year

Review the year. How was it like for you? What were you ups and downs? What were you proud of? What made you happy? What did you accomplish? What did you learn? These are questions you need to ask yourself when reflecting on the past year.

What 2020 Taught Me

6. Write Out New Habits You Need To Develop.

A habit is a routine or behavior that is performed regularly and in most cases automatically.

What are the new habits you want to develop that will make you a better person in 2021?

It could be mastering self discipline , saying your affirmations daily , having a morning routine, having a day for self care, it could also be a reading or listening habit, meditating, following a skincare routine or eating healthier.

Whatever habit you want to cultivate, write them down and make a conscious effort to follow through them.

7. Set Goals For The New Year

You’ve probably been seeing this everywhere right? Set goals and not resolutions. Have a clearly defined goal that is specific, measurable and time bound. Your goals need to be ABC and SMART.

Here’s a detailed post on how to set your goals for 2021

So those are the things you need to do to have a remarkable 2023. What will you be adding to the list? Let me know in the comments section.

  8. This reminds me of one thing that I REALLY need to do before moving into 2021 – I need to go through and clean up my email inboxes! I’m one of those people that holds onto emails ‘just in case I need to reference it later’ but never sorts anything, deletes them when the time comes, makes folders, etc. lol I admit I have a problem haha but what better time than now to go in and take care of that?

    1. I’m also guilty of that as well. Saving something to reference to it later but end up not doing that and deleting it later. It’s something I need to stop as well.
